If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.
~Winnie the Pooh
Dear Family and Friends:
Since Jeanie’s death, I’ve spent much time thinking about the meaning of her life..and our life together. There are a number of books that I’ve read over the last year (see link) that have been helpful to me in thinking about these topics. In one of these books, Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grief, David Kessler, asks readers to think about the following questions:
-How can you honor your loved one?
-How can you create a different life that includes them?
-How can you use your experience to help others?
Given these questions and my other readings, I thought by sharing the topics below, and in the links above, I will celebrate Jeanie, help myself and others move forward in life with the elements that brought meaning to Jeanie and my 59 1/2 years together, and create a synergy, effect a life, or stimulate an individual’s or a couple’s thoughts and actions in the present.
Love to all,
Joe

Celebrating 75 Years Young
For Joe’s and Jeanie’s 75th Birthdays Heather (with the help of Patrick, Michael, and Joanna), presented them with a wonderful book to read through in recognition of that special birthday and to understand how much they are “admired and loved!” The book arrived a couple of weeks before Jeanie died and Joe finished reading it to Jeanie a few days before February 4, 2022. As Hone speaks and writes about: “This is finding the “good stuff.’”
No doubt there are folks who are reading this who might have a special memory of Jeanie that they would like to share. We hope for what would have been her 77th birthday on March 6, 2023 to add to Jeanie’s celebratory memories; if you have anything you might like to add, picture or prose, please send forward such to to jjmckeigue@aol.com by the end of February 2023.
